The forum will take place on Wednesday, March 3rd, 2010 at North York Memorial Hall in Toronto from 9am until 4pm.

Keynote speakers will include:

• Dr. Vicky Scott, British Columbia’s Senior Adviser on Falls & Injury Prevention
• Lynda McPhee, Education Coordinator for the Alberta Centre for Injury Control & Research
• Suzanne Baker from the seniors’ fall prevention initiative in Nova Scotia’s Department of Health Promotion and Protection
• Rhonda Lovell from the Stay on Your Feet Program in Kingston
• Monica Marquis from the Mississauga Halton Falls Prevention program
• A Representative from the Falls Intervention Team (FIT)
• Updates from the Public Health Agency of Canada
• Updates from the Agency for Health Promotion and Protection (Brian Hyndman)
• Updates from the 4 national Injury Prevention Organizations
• Updates from the Ministry of Health Promotion

The cost is $85 per person.

Display space is available for $100 per program. If you wish to have display space at the forum, please be sure to select the option “OIPRC Registration and Display Space at OIPRC Forum $185.00”. Only one person from each program needs to pay this extra $100 as it is a one-time fee.

This event will provide numerous opportunities for learning and engaging various public health practitioners, LHIN members and government workers on the issue of Seniors’ Fall Prevention strategies and programming. Each presentation will encompass the underlying research, the implementation, policy-making implications and next steps.
