The forum will take place on the evening of March 8th and all day on the 9th at the Novotel-North York Hotel in Toronto. Hotel rates and information are available on through the above “Event Summary” link, under the “Hotel” tab

Keynote speakers will include: • Tom Vanderbilt, author of “Traffic: Why We Drive the Way We Do (and What It Says About Us)”
• Linda Beyer, expert on the Regional Niagara Road Safety Committee Strategy (including Think and Drive)
• Jeff Griffith, Team Leader of the MTO Road Safety Marketing Office
• Barbara Morrongiello, Psychologist and researcher at Guelph University
• Traffic Injury Research Foundation (TIRF) – “Change the Conversation”
• Representative from Arrive Alive DRIVE SOBER
• Panel discussion with key stakeholders for risky driving program planning, including the Niagara Regional Police Service Chief of Police

Who: This event will provide numerous opportunities for learning and engaging various public health practitioners, LHIN members, planners, police, driver educators, transport engineers, hospital professionals, and government representatives interested in the issue of Risky Driving prevention and programming.

Why: Presentations will encompass the underlying research, implementation, policy-making implications, key aspects for engaging stakeholders, and next steps. We hope to highlight the challenges experienced by various initiatives and present information on how you can work with various stakeholders to overcome these obstacles. The MTO presentation will provide information on new programs, resources and contacts available at the MTO. A panel of key stakeholders will be present to field your questions on how to engage various sectors and create relationships key to the success of your programming. Representatives from both the Traffic Injury Research Foundation and Arrive alive DRIVE SOBER will be present to field your questions. The day will consist of various group sessions in which you will be able to put to use all of the information and resources provided by the presentations and panel discussions.
