OIPRC to be managed by new Ontario agency

We are pleased to announce that as of April 1, 2010, the Ontario Agency for Health Protection and Promotion will be taking over responsibility for the contract management of the Ontario Injury Prevention Resource Centre, as funded by the Ministry of Health Promotion.

The transfer and transformation of key centres is designed to align with OAHPP mandate while ensuring partner Ministry priorities (including those specified within the Health Protection and Promotion Act, the Ontario Public Health Standards, Smoke-Free Ontario Strategy renewal and other emerging strategies) are met.

Our injury prevention work is closely aligned with OAHPP’s mandate and we look forward to working in close partnership as we all strive to strengthen health promotion and chronic disease and injury prevention in Ontario.

For more information, please visit the OAHPP’s website.

Please be assured that this change does not affect our daily operations. The Resource Centre is continuing all its activities as planned and you can feel free to contact us with your injury prevention queries as per usual.
