SMARTRISK Learning Series now in online video
If you’ve had to miss a session of the SMARTRISK Learning Series – or you would like to revisit a favourite one – you can now view past sessions of this educational program as online videos. No special software is needed – just click and watch and listen. Meanwhile, register now for the Feb. 27 session on alcohol-related civil liability.
This new online video feature of the SMARTRISK Learning Series is now available right here at the Ontario Injury Prevention Resource Centre website. Merging the visual and audio content of past Learning Series presentations has enabled the Resource Centre to provide a simplified and easy to use archive of the various sessions. Anyone who is interested can simply click, watch and listen to a variety of experts on timely injury prevention topics from the comfort of their office or home.
This format transcends geographical and cost barriers, making the SMARTRISK Learning Series an even more useful tool for the professional development of injury prevention practitioners.
About the SMARTRISK Learning Series videos
The SMARTRISK Learning Series is a monthly, educational program designed for Ontario’s injury prevention practitioners. Experts deliver presentations on a wide range of topics that explore the latest research from the field and issues in program planning, implementation and evaluation. The program is delivered via teleconference and offers easy access to innovative information and new ideas.
The Learning Series online videos require you to install no special software beyond the common Flash plugin (which most web browsers already have). The slides advance automatically with the audio, requiring just a few clicks to get started. It may take some time for the video to start, depending on how fast your internet connection is. This new feature is available to everyone.
While the online video format does not allow the interaction possible when attending the live Learning Series teleconferences, it is a great alternative for those unable to attend or those wishing to revisit a presentation. After listening to the presentation, practitioners can post their questions on the Resource Centre Forum.
To view the online videos visit the right side highlights bar and locate the video you are interested in. There is no limit to the number of times you can access the videos.
