Mark your calendars for the 2008 Ontario Injury Prevention Conference, Blazing Trails: Exploring New Frontiers in Injury Prevention, Nov. 16-18, at the Courtyard by Marriott in Toronto. Don’t miss out on this unique conference opportunity to blaze trails and explore new frontiers in injury prevention.

The Ontario Injury Prevention Conference 2008 is organized by SMARTRISK, in partnership with the Ontario Ministry of Transportation, the Ontario Ministry of Health Promotion, the Ontario Neurotrauma Foundation and the Ontario Public Health Association. The organizing team is proud to offer a whole new conference format this year, featuring innovative skill-building sessions.

The creativity of this year’s Planning Committee has led to the development of a reinvented Ontario Injury Prevention Conference, where practical applications will be shared, where best practices will be explained and developed and where future action will be shaped. This conference will feature interactive concurrent and plenary sessions, structured networking opportunities, multicultural dining and a social program that takes advantage of Toronto’s many unique features.

Bringing together a diverse network of practitioners, researchers, academics, educators, manufacturers, law enforcers and policy makers, this conference will have something for everyone. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn from keynote speakers, in-depth panel discussions, enlightening workshops, case studies and poster presentations, all carefully selected to provide participants with the latest in injury prevention best practices and knowledge translation. This experience will lend itself to the development of new partnerships to sustain future injury prevention initiatives and will build on the capacity of all who come to the table. Participants will leave the conference motivated, engaged and ready to move injury prevention to the next level.
