About the Centre

The Ontario Injury Prevention Resource Centre (OIPRC) is a member of the Ontario Health Promotion Resource System, a network of organizations dedicated to building capacity for health promotion in Ontario.

The Ontario Injury Prevention Resource Centre helps to develop injury prevention initiatives and provides the following services across Ontario:

IP Resource Centre Staff

Dr. Phil Groff, SMARTRISK's Director of Research and Evaluation, manages the resource centre, ably assisted by Linda Yenssen, Nadja Gale, Kelly Cimek and Odette Doumbe.

Linda Yenssen coordinates the networking and consultation activities of the resource centre, as well as providing the liason between the resource centre and many of our primary stakeholders. She also coordinates the development of the resource centre's website and other electronic and print content in the centre's collection.

Nadja Gale coordinates the training functions of the resource centre. In that capacity, Nadja coordinates the curriculum for the SMARTRISK Learning Series and the Canadian Injury Prevention and Control Curriculum.

Kelly Cimek, SMARTRISK’s Research Associate: Epidemiologist continues to research and produce the monthly issues of Ontario Injury Compass and also researches many of the responses to external requests for information.

Odette Doumbe continues to serve as the point of first contact for most Ontarians accessing the resource centre. She can be reached at (416) 977-7350 or info@oninjuryresources.ca, and will forward requests for consultations, information resources or referrals to the appropriate staff member. All other resource centre staff can also be contacted through her.

Other members of the SMARTRISK team also continue to contribute to the success of the resource centre including, but not limited to, the information technology support provided by Michael Gemar, Michael Shea’s evaluation support and Kathy Blair’s work writing and editing for the Resource Centre.
